The Fabulous 6
The Fabulous 6
The Fabulous Six: Also know as the Fab 6 and or dynasty team was a group of players in the graduating class of 2024, who began playing together at a very early age and that many considered the greatest class of all time in Lady Patriots Soccer history. The group consisted of (#2) Ximena Garcia (#5) Itza Bella Nuñez (#7) Paola Ramirez (#11) Mia Sanchez (#12) Elliah Jade Rodriguez and (#15) Bianca Garcia.
Among other accomplishments and accolades The Fab 6 were the first team in Lady Patriots Soccer history to be ranked in the top five in the state of Texas (3 out of 4 years). Together they won three district championships, which consisted of two undefeated seasons (back to back) in four years. In 2023 they travelled to Laredo Texas to participate in the 18th annual Border Olympics Soccer tournament and after three days of competition they went undefeated to secure a match in the championship game. With a score of 3-1 The Lady Patriots defeated the Nixon Lady mustangs to secure the Gold and the Championship.
History
Mia Sanchez and Itza Bella Nuñez met in Mims Elementary School in Mission Texas. It was there that they played their first organized soccer game together in a tournament involving other elementaries from around the district taking first place. It was then that Mia invited Itza to join her travelling team (Porto) coached by Mia Sanchez father.
Having and older sister on the Lady Patriots Soccer program, Ximena Garcia would accompany her to practice, where Lady Patriots Soccer head coach Kenan Nuñez (Itza's dad) first noticed her. Nuñez asked her sister if she played soccer and mentioned that his daughter Itza was playing with Porto and that Ximena should considered joining.
Bianca Garcia was a transferred student from Laredo Texas. Who joined Itza, Mia, and Ximena who were already in Jr. High. Together they went on to win district titles and tournament championships.
Rivals at first: While Itza, Mia, Ximena and Bianca were already making their marks in Mission Jr High Soccer, on the other side of town, the final two pieces of the puzzle were at Cantu Jr. High in Alton Texas. Paola Ramirez and Elliah Jade Rodriguez went up against Itza, Mia, Ximena, and Bianca in many in-season games and tournaments with the former winning all of thier match ups.
However, it was in those match ups that Lady Patriots Soccer Head coach Kenan Nuñez knew he was witnessing something special. Coach Nuñez's next goal was to get them playing together early before jumping into high school. They all joined Porto and it was there where the public first got a glimpse of what was to come for the Lady Patriots Soccer program at Mission Veterans Memorial High School.
The Arrival: On the fall of 2020 they arrived on the campus of Mission Veterans Memorial High School and officially became part of the Lady Patriots Soccer program. Coach Nuñez had one goal in mind; win and make the playoffs. And what followed was that of what most coaches can only dream about. Under Nuñez's tutelage they quickly began racking up win after win going undefeated in their first two season together; followed by many summer league championships, one Border Olympic Championship, and one last district title in their senior year to give them three in a span of four years to sum it all up.
Aftermath: The Fab Six graduated in the spring of 2024 leaving behind a legacy that left its mark in girls soccer putting Mission Veterans Memorial on the map in high school sports. They became the most feared team in the district. They brought families together, fans adored them, and rivals respected them. They left something to talk about for years to come and have inspired the next generation of Lady Patriots Soccer players to be GREAT!
Fun Fact: Did you know? Itza, Mia, and Ximena share the same birthdate! All three were born on the same day, month, and year.
Soccer has thought me so much these past years. I am grateful for the friendships I made and for my sisters from another mother I didn’t know I needed. I appreciate every single moment spent with my girls. Four years of tears on the field, but so many happy moments happened also. This season didn’t end how we wanted to end, but at the end of the day we got that District Championship. I would also like to thank the amazing coaches I have had. Coach Treviño, Amaro, Floodine, and especially Nuñez were the ones that made everything possible for us. Grateful God gave me the chance to play with girls I have a really good friendship with and will always be with me.

Hey girls I just wanted to let you know that every time I stepped on that field you all made it memorable. I am so proud of all of you and of how close we all became as a family. I will never ask for another team since I already got the best one. Because of our hard work I got to end off on a good note, leaving my senior year as District Champs. We may not have the same blood, but I will always be your big sister. I wish you all nothing but the best next season. Other than that, thank you so much for making my soccer journey the best it could ever be. I love every single one of you ♡︎.

These past 4 years playing soccer have been amazing. I had a great coach who believed in me and knew I could be a great player. Soccer brought me my 4 best friends and I am so thankful for that. This season brought many memories, new friendships, tears and happiness. At the end of the day, I had an amazing team by my side. Enjoy your moment girls because this is a once in a lifetime thing. Lastly, thank you to our parents because no matter the outcome of our games they were still there to support us. I love you guys <3

When I started playing soccer in high school I was always scared of the ball and scared to go up to girls, which is why I always said I belonged in defense and not offense. As time passed, playing with you girls gave me so much confidence that I didn’t know I had, and could not only show on the field, but as a person as well. I am usually a quiet person, but around you guys I seem to never stop talking, screaming, laughing, and giggling. I will forever be grateful to you guys for bringing out that confidence in me which makes me who I am today. I hope you guys know you will always be a part of me because the best moments I’ve ever had in high school were on the field with all of you. I hope you all succeed in life and get everything you’ve ever wanted. I love you girls always.
